Hermosa Montessori School's Physical Education (PE) Program
Exercise, physical conditioning, and agility contribute to student health and learning. Hermosa provides daily, supervised physical education instruction for all elementary through middle school students. Activities include morning warm-up exercises, cardio-vascular exercise, structured activities, non-competitive games, and sports skill building. Middle school students learn standard physical education skills to prepare them to effectively compete in standard sports. For example, these include, but are not limited to learning how to pass, set, serve, and execute volleyball footwork followed by practice tournaments and games. Students focus on particular sports and skills, followed by testing to assess their knowledge of each sport.
Cross Country
The Hermosa School Cross Country Team trains weekly and competes in citywide races. The team is coached and supervised by experienced, qualified Hermosa staff and parents. Boys and girls learn correct techniques, good sportsmanship, build athleticism, and have fun.
