Hermosa Montessori School
Tucson, Az. Since 1978.
Wait List Policy
The process to put a student on our Wait List is as follows:- The parent/guardian fills out the Hermosa Montessori Wait List form. This form is available from the office or for download on the forms page.
- The date on the form determines the child's place on the Wait List.
- Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis. In accordance to Arizona Law, siblings of enrolled students are given priority.
- The application will remain active for three months. Applicants must come into the front office at the school and sign the form every three months to stay on the Wait List. Calling in is not acceptable.
- Applicants who live out of town must send in a signed Wait List form, which may be downloaded from our web site, every three months. We recommend that it be sent certified to ensure delivery. If you do not send the form certified, make sure you call to see if it was received. We must receive the letter by the three-month date for your application to remain active.
- If no contact is made the application will be deactivated.
- When an opening occurs, the parent/guardian is contacted by telephone. Once a placement has been offered, parents have 48 hours to contact the school to accept/decline the position. If the Applicant has not contacted the school within this period, the application will be deactivated and the next student contacted.
- It is the Applicant's responsibility to keep contact information updated. If the Applicant cannot be reached by phone, the application will be deactivated. If your application is on the top of the list, please notify the school of any vacation plans you may have.
- A child can only be put on the Wait List for the current school year, as per age and grade appropriate. Current updated applications will be moved to the next age or grade as appropriate.
- Hermosa Montessori admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to students at the school.
- Parents or their representatives and students must attend the scheduled presentation on classroom procedures, curriculum, social issues and student and parental expectations. This presentation will be held once per year per grade level, or per grade level groups (upper elementary, Middle school, etc.) This requirement is added to make transitions into Hermosa's program as smooth as possible and to allow parents and students the opportunity to understand the requirements of attendance and successful academic performance in the program. Students whose parents or their representatives not attending this presentation will remain on the Wait List and be placed after the names of students whose parents or representatives attended the presentation.
- It is the Applicant's responsibility to keep contact information updated. If the Applicant cannot be reached by phone, the application will be deactivated. If your application is on the top of the list, please notify the school of any vacation plans you may have.
